Viewing Day Shift (vampire movie)

Jamie Foxxand Dave Franco star in the vampire hunting movie "Day Shift". The movie is about a blue collar working dad who wants to provide for his child's happiness. But, his mundane job at the pool in San Fernando Valley serves as a front for hunting and killing Vampires as part of an international Union of vampiric hunters.

It sounds like a fun idea, but can J.J. Perry bring it to life?

Jamie Foxx is seen shooting at a woman who turns out to have been a vampire in the opening scene of "Day Shift". This then leads to a wild fight between them. This kind of ragdoll physics makes the action scenes really pop. I think the movie does a better job than most action movies on Netflix or blockbusters. When watching scenes like this it's easy to forget the old saying that "action speaks louder then words". However, I believe part of what makes "Day Shift so successful is its ability to combine dialogue and action to advance the plot and character development. Jamie Foxx's vampire-killing scene ends with him having a funny and dry conversation about how he thought she would turn into a bat or some other creature. These are the moments that make "Day Shift", a movie unlike any other.

Day Shift, another lighthearted and fun film, was one that I really enjoyed. I didn't have to think to much, it had great action that was original and I felt like I was enjoying watching it. It had good humor and I found myself laughing out loud a fair bit. It did draw inspiration from some brilliant vampire films, such as Blade and Lost Boys. These films are also some my favorites. The acting was solid, the directing was brilliant and the cinematography quite impressive. Day Shift will satisfy those who are looking for something that is entertaining but not too serious. It's lots of fun.

Day Shift is a mixed film. One side is that there are lots of action scenes and some funny characters (the brothers and Seth), while the villain was awful and a lot poor characters. Although it helps the best characters shine, I think Day Shift is mixed. There were scenes missing that were not shown. Bud's neighbor behaves like she's a friend, even though she only had three minutes of screen time before the final scene. Bud making prank calls at the gas station while he was working at his job is the best part. It was hilarious and it was (original blog) so much fun to watch. But then the rest of the movie happened, and it wasn't nearly as good. Day Shift, in the end, is a mixed bag. Some parts are great, and some parts are terrible. If you're looking to laugh, this movie could be your best choice.

The movie is worth the effort thanks to Snoop Dogg. Snoop Dogg is simply a great guy. He's the epitome cool.
